Software & Slicing
To access GrabCad Print, please use the podium computer with permission from a Pilot Space Assistant.
Print File Preparation
Import your STL or OBJ file into GrabCad print.
Select your model on the buildplate, and choose settings. We strongly encourage people to choose a non-default infill percentage to save material. GrabCad Print chooses near-100% infill by default, which, in most cases, is not required for structural strength.
Printing Via USB
In GrabCad print, instead of pressing "print":
Prepare your file with intended settings
Important: make sure you select the machine model you'll be printing on (either F170 or F370)
Insert a flash drive into the computer
Click file->Export as CMB and save the file on the flash drive.
Usually if prompted, you'll want to include the purge tower.
Wait for it to finish exporting - there will be a progress bar at the top of the screen.
Eject & unplug the USB, and plug it into the Stratasys.
Open the "queue" menu (second down on the left) and press the "+" button on the upper right.
Select "from USB" and add your file to the queue. Make sure that your file is the first or only file in the queue, otherwise other things will print first!
