Custom Material Settings

How to use a custom material:

  1. Select "Use uncertified material" in the top left

  2. Set the thickness (measure with calipers - the thickness of a material usually varies from the advertised size)

  3. Select the "Manual" option in the cut settings, and refer to the settings provided below

Foamboard

Adam's Ready Board (5mm thick)

Adam's Ready Board does NOT contain dangerous chemicals. It is regularly laser cut and used to make radio-controlled airplanes, models, and more.

Testing results from the Glowforge community: (The following settings are slightly different from the forum settings)

They have been tested on black Adam's Ready Board in the maker space and have worked well. White foamboard will likely need slightly less power, but these settings will still work well. For the top paper+foam,

The "cut through everything" setting, of course, cuts through everything. The top paper+foam setting will leave the lower paper intact.
